Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Presiden Joko Widodo menegaskan bahwa dukungan Indonesia terhadap perjuangan Palestina tidak akan surut, bahkan akan meningkat.

Hal tersebut disampaikan Jokowi saat berpidato dalam KTT Luar Biasa Organisasi Kerja Sama Islam (OKI) di Istanbul, Turki, pada Rabu, 13 Desember 2017.

“Indonesia akan menyertai Palestina dalam perjuangannya,” kata Presiden Jokowi seperti dikutip dalam keterangan tertulis yang diterima Liputan6.com dari Sekretariat Presiden pada Kamis (14/12/2017).

Menurut Presiden, dukungan tersebut bukan hanya dalam bentuk dukungan politik. Indonesia akan terus meningkatkan kapasitas dan dukungan kepada perekonomian Palestina.

Dalam hal kebijakan luar negeri, Presiden Jokowi juga menegaskan posisi Palestina yang berada di jantung politik luar negeri Indonesia.

“Dalam setiap helaan napas diplomasi Indonesia, di situ terdapat keberpihakan terhadap Palestina,” ucap Presiden.

Presiden Recep Tayyip Erdogan menyerukan pengakuan atas Yerusalem Timur sebagai ibu kota Palestina. Pernyataan tersebut disampaikannya saat membuka pertemuan darurat Organisasi Kerja Sama Islam (OKI) di Istanbul, Turki.

Pertemuan darurat ini terselenggara untuk memberikan respons atas keputusan Donald Trump yang mengakui Yerusalem sebagai ibu kota Israel.

Seperti dikutip dari The Guardian pada Rabu 13 Desember kemarin, Erdogan berharap bisa menyatukan para pemimpin muslim melalui sebuah pernyataan akhir negara-negara anggota OKI.

Orang nomor satu di Turki tersebut juga menyerukan percepatan pengakuan Palestina oleh institusi internasional, mengecam pengakuan Yerusalem oleh Amerika Serikat sebagai “garis merah” yang tidak sah dan provokatif bagi umat Islam. Erdogan pun mendefinisikan Israel sebagai negara penjajah dan teror.

Sementara itu, Presiden Palestina Mahmoud Abbas mengatakan bahwa Trump telah melakukan “kejahatan besar” dengan melanggar hukum internasional. Abbas memperingatkan bahwa ekstremis dapat mengubah perjuangan politik ke agama.

“Mulai saat ini, Palestina tidak akan menerima apapun peran AS dalam proses perdamaian,” ungkap Abbas.

Suara yang muncul dalam forum pertemuan luar biasa OKI dilaporkan menggemakan kembali pendapat serupa yang bergabung dalam pertemuan Liga Arab di Kairo pada akhir pekan lalu. Para Menteri Luar Negeri negara-negara Arab saat itu menuntut agar keputusan Trump dibatalkan.
